Associate professor of Scienza delle Costruzioni (Solid and Structural Mechanics) at the Department of Civil, Environmental, Architectural Engineering and Mathematics of the University of Brescia.  

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE (BESIDE TEACHING)

January-July 1999: Practical training at the software house Hibbitt, Karlsson & Sorensen, Inc. (later, ABAQUS, Inc., now Dassault Systèmes), Pawtucket R.I. (U.S.A.). 

1st March 2002 to 20th February 2011: Assistant professor at the Department of Civil Engineering of the University of Brescia. 

July-September 2003 and January-March 2004: Visiting scientist at the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics (DAMTP) of Cambridge (UK).

May 2006 to December 2013: member of the Scientific Committee of the Research Center of Applied Seismology and Structural Dynamics (CeSiA) of the University of Brescia.

March 2009 to March 2017: member of the Doctoral Committee of the PhD course in Materials for Engineering at the University of Brescia.

2009: recipient of the first junior Prize in Mechanics of Solids awarded by the Italian Association of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (AIMETA).

21st February 2011 to date: Associate professor at the Department of Civil, Environmental, Architectural Engineering and Mathematics of the University of Brescia.

May 2011 to date: member of the Doctoral Committee of the PhD course in Mathematical Methods and Models for Engineering at the University of Brescia.  

September 2013 to date: member of the Doctoral Committee of the PhD course in Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Brescia.  

January 2014 to date: member of the Executive Committee of the Mechanics of Materials Group of the Italian Association of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (GMA-AIMETA) (coordinator since January 2016).  

May 26th 2015: Italian full professorship habilitation in "Scienza delle Costruzioni" (Solid and Structural Mechanics).
